米国エネルギー省(Department of Energy; DOE)が多額の資金を提供して民間が建設しているCO2大気直接回収について、２つのプロジェクトのwebページが見つかりました。

音楽付きの映像はいいのですが、原理やエネルギー消費、コストについては何も書いてありません。
日本政府のシンクタンクCRDSが2019年に報告書を出していて、同じ用語（calciner, slaker等）が使われているので原理はこれにある通りでしょう（pdf注意）

①Air Contactor中で、KOH水溶液とCO2が反応し、K2CO3が生成する。
②K2CO3を含む吸収液を、Pellet reactor でSteam slakerから供給されるCa(OH)2と反応させCaCO3とKOHにする。
③KOHはAir Contactorに戻す。
④CaCO3は、Calcinerで加熱してCaOとCO2に分解する。
⑤生成したCaOはSteam slakerで水と反応させCa(OH)2にして②で使う。
⑥④で発生したCO2気体は圧縮して液化し、貯留する。
だそうです。⑤でかなり加熱が必要で500℃～800℃とされています。コストについては明日検討しましょう。
