木星の模様は神秘を感じさせます。そのせいか、SFでも題材になっていて傑作が多いと思います。思いつくものとして：
・さよならジュピター（小松左京 1984） 太陽系に迫るブラックホールの軌道を木星をぶつけて逸らせます。最後にはナスカの地上絵に出てくる謎の超越生命体が介入します。

・2010 Oddyssey Two （Arther C. Clarke 1982） 木星を大量のMonolithが覆って質量を増加させ恒星にしてしまいます。謎の超越生命体が衛星エウロパの原始生命体を進化させるためです。

・City （Cliford D. Simak 1944-51, 1973） 人類は別の形態に進化？して木星に移住してしまい、地球上には犬が残り文明を引き継ぎます。古い小説ですが、哲学的な謎が残り印象的でした。

NASAの探査機Junoは本来のミッションを完了していまはadditional timeで観測をしています。先輩の土星探査機Cassiniは地球からの微生物を衛星に散らさないため土星本体に突入させられました。
