今週の世界の研究所は、最近話題のchatGPTやDall-E等を発表したOpenAI LP社およびその親団体である非営利法人OpenAI Inc. をとりあげます(本部は米国サンフランシスコ）。私も大学院の機械学習の講義でopenAIgymを使っているので、お世話になっています。

今週は、OpenAI社が発表した各システムの仕組みや、現段階での利用法を調べてみようと思います。
我々教師にとっては、レポート課題を解く言語型AIは成績評価ができなくなるため恐怖の対象です。言語型AI側に、レポートのテキストに消せない印を埋め込んでもらうか（文字の組み合わせに暗号を仕込む→学生がちょっと変えるとダメになるので難しい？）、学生側の誠実さを信じるしかないと思います（honor system)。不正行為がばれたら退学を含む厳重処分というのは今も各大学にありますが、バレなくなる可能性があるので、対策を考える必要があります。
講義のレポート課題に出したことがある「超伝導体の電気抵抗はなぜゼロかを説明してください」をいまchatGPTに聞いたら、
「超伝導体は、物理的な熱励起を伴う特殊な状態である「超伝導状態」に入ると、絶縁体のようになり電気抵抗がゼロになります。超伝導状態では、電位差が存在しても、超伝導体内の物質が移動しないため、抵抗が生じずゼロとなります。また、超伝導体内部では、電子が磁場に影響されない「超流動」状態になり、電子の移動が困難なため、電流が流れないか」
とウソばっかり答えてきたので（英語で聞いても同じ）、今は大丈夫ですが、近い将来に大きな問題になることが予想されます。

非営利団体の下に営利企業がある特殊な形態(capped-profit)は、投資を呼び込むのといい研究者に高い報酬を与えるためですね。
