今週金曜日の百人一首は、薬を扱ったものを探しましたが、薬の効かない恋わずらいや老いに関する歌しかありませんでした。恋わずらいだけでなく、目についたものを写してみました。英語と比較すると、日本語は感情の機微を詩にしやすいように思いますが、英語の詩をちゃんと読まないと判断できませんね。
※「さしもぐさ」＝ヨモギ が古い和歌にはたくさん出てきます（例：百人一首 51,75など）。地味な植物なのに不思議ですね。ヨモギはお灸につかう「もぐさ」の原料なので、医薬品としてなじみがあったためでは？というのはいま私が思いついた説です。
お灸は６世紀に伝来し、平安時代には使われていて、百人一首の編纂者の藤原定家もお灸の愛好者だったそうです。

It is not what I prayed for.
