英語は昨日のassume の解説です。これは「仮定する」だけではわからない文章が出てきます。

“formal English”では真実であることをassumeというそうです。「みなす」でしょうか。
In more formal English, you say it is assumed that something is true:
It is assumed that the person is innocent. その人は無実だとみなされる。
2 → assume control/responsibility etc 権力、地位に就く
He assumed power in a bloody coup in 1990. 1990年の血なまぐさいクーデターで権力を掌握した。
3 → assume a manner/air/expression etc ふりをする
（formal） to behave in a way that does not show how you really feel, especially in order to seem more confident, happy etc than you are SYN put on
Andy assumed an air of indifference whenever her name was mentioned. 自分の名前が出てきたときは無関心のふりをした。
4 to start to have a particular quality or appearance SYN take on ある状態になる
These relationships assume great importance in times of crisis.
The problem is beginning to assume massive proportions.
5 to be based on the idea that something else is correct SYN presuppose 反語的ですね。真実でないことを仮定する
The theory assumes that both labour and capital are mobile. その説は労働者と資本家の両方が流動的であることを仮定している。
