Haptics（「ハ」プティックス）は「触覚」を人工的に生み出す技術を指します。超音波波面制御の応用の一つです。大学など日本を含む世界中で研究されていますが、センターという名前になっているのは少ないです。ベンチャーもいくつか立ち上がっています。今週はhapticsを解説しますが、超音波を使わない方法もあり、今日はそちらを扱います。

は振動する静電場を使う方法の研究です。振動する静電場でタッチスクリーンから指に引力を及ぼすとのことで、感電しないのか気になりますね。
Electrovibration causes haptic sensations by attracting the user’s finger-pad to the screen using oscillating electrostatic forces;

によると、125-300Hz、ピーク電圧50-150Vの振動電場を指にかけると触覚を変化させられるそうです。
Nonetheless, even though generating a tactile sensation via this method is technically straightforward, the perceptual effects of electrovibration and the underlying physical mechanisms are not yet adequately （「ア」デクエトり 適切に） understood.
