しばらくお茶を濁していましたが、今週は金曜日の企業会計をまじめに？やりましょう。今週扱ったButterfly Network社の情報が下記です。

によると、Market Cap 時価総額 1.8B$(2030億円）なので、Unicorn企業の条件≧1B$は満たしています。Unicornのリストから外れたのは、創業2011年なので、10年を超えたからのようです。このweb siteのFinantials>Income Statement (損益計算書PLとほぼ同義）を見ると、Gross Profit （売上総利益）= – 61223thousands$ = 69億円の赤字です。コストを引いてOperating Income（営業利益）＝-161619k$=183億円の赤字です。すでに株主資本に余裕があるのでしばらく運転資金は大丈夫と思いますが、株価が下がっているのは赤字のせいもあるかもしれません。
PLには4つの利益があることはすでに書いたと思いますが、わかりやすい説明がありました。英語では「利益」に対応する言葉にはprofit, income, marginがあるそうです。

reconciled cost of revenueという用語がわからなかったので、調べました。

によると、これはstart up では重要だそうです。
cost of revenue は 売上原価
reconciled は調整後 と訳すようです。なぜ調整が必要かは、事業が水平飛行していない（急上昇であるといいですが）ため、帳簿の締めのタイミングによって差し引きすべき項目が異なるためのようです。原料の仕入れ、製造、代金が入るタイミングがずれるなど、でしょう。定常運転になれば時期がずれても収入と支出の対応がほぼ同じなのであまり気にならないということのようです。

よく見ますが、日本語にずばり対応する語がない難語です。英英辞典LDOCEを見ましょう。
1．if you reconcile two ideas, situations, or facts, you find a way in which they can both be true or acceptable 2つとも正しいようにする方法を見つけること
2. be reconciled (with somebody) 受け身で、和解させられる＝和解すること
to have a good relationship again with someone after you have quarrelled with them 誰かと争った後で再び仲良くなる、なので「仲直りする」ですね

3.会計用語では、会計（報告）が整合するように調整する to make two accounts or statements agree or add up to the same total
This hurried attempt to reconcile the books was a mistake. 今回、帳簿を急いで合わせようとしてミスにつながった。
例文を引いてみましょう。訳してみましたが、間違っているかもしれません。”reconcile”が要注意単語であることが分かると思います。
• How is the position to be reconciled? これは私は「？」です。会計用語と解釈すると、position 持ち高（株の売買の状況）、 reconcile は上記「調整」で、「どうやってその持ち高を調整するんだ？」？
• They dance the next dance together, reconciled again. 彼らは次は一緒に踊る。また仲直りしたんだ。
• Senate and House members are trying to reconcile different versions of the transportation bill.
transportation bill は下記によると運輸予算？ 上院と下院の議員たちは異なる運輸予算案を合わせようと努力している、でしょうか。

reconcile oneself to で「諦める」 四季の由来のところでしょう。かなり無茶苦茶な話です。

• He’s quite reconciled to it all. これは「彼はそれに甘んじた」でしょうか。
