が該当する特許のようです。「画像検査装置は、差分画像を構成する複数の画素の輝度を１６×１６の画素群毎に平均化した第２基準画像を生成する。また、画像検査装置は、差分画像を構成する複数の画素の輝度を４×４の画素群毎に平均化した第２検査画像を生成する。画像検査装置は、第２基準画像の各画素の輝度値と、第２検査画像の各画素の輝度値と、を同じ位置の画素同士で比較し、両輝度の関係が所定基準を満たしている画素の有無に基づいて欠陥を検出する。」
とのことで、明暗の縞々をずらして撮像した画像の差分を基に、広い範囲の移動平均と狭い範囲の移動平均をつくり、狭いほうだけに特異的に明暗の構造が出ているところを欠陥（埃）として報告するということですね。
埃が気になるのは人間なので、人間と同じような眼のカメラで検査すれば十分。確かに、埃を見るときには横から見たりして見え方を変えて気が付くので、縞々を動かす方式は納得です。実際に使える製品になっているところがいいですね。
面白いのは、この会社の英語ページにはこの検査装置は出ていないことです。外国には売りたくないということでしょうか。また、検査がダメだった塗装は人間が修正するのでしょうか（恐らくそうでしょう）。
