今年のノーベル化学賞は、みんないつか受賞すると思っていたプロリン誘導体の不斉触媒でした。有機分子触媒（中心金属がない均一系触媒）の端緒となったもので、有機化学の授業でちょっと習っているのではないでしょうか？

20年くらい前から発展した分野ですが、受賞すると思われていた三人のうち一人が6年前に亡くなっていたとのこと。ケムステ ( https://www.chem-station.com ) 等で専門家により詳しく紹介されるでしょうから、私が下手な解説をしなくてもいいと思います。他の分野にないこういうサイトがあるということは、日本は有機化学者の層が厚いのでしょうね。
