今週の孫子は、5章 兵勢篇(Energy)からです。「三軍之架、可使必受敵而無敗者、奇正是也。 兵之所加、如以（石段）投卵者、虚実是也。凡戦者、以正合、以奇勝。故善出奇者、無窮如天地、不（立と掲のつくり）如江河。終而復始、日月是也。死而復生、四時是也。」
型にはまった正攻法だけではダメで、臨機の応用(「奇」indirect tacticsと訳してありますが、ちょっと違う感じですね)が必要であるという主張です。長州藩の「奇兵隊」の「奇」の基になった考え方だと言われています。

secure victory 確実に勝つ（日本語の形容動詞＋動詞が英語では動詞＋目的語になります。この語感を身に着けてください）

anew （副詞）改めて、新たに < new
a はラテン語またはドイツ語で from, to, of 等の意味を持ちます。
形容詞を副詞に変えていると思っていいです。
