と、糖代謝を制御する糖尿病治療薬であるsemaglutide(商品名OzempicとWegovy)と tirzepatide(商品名 Mounjaro)があります。
糖尿病治療薬の方は、GLP-1作動薬と呼ばれていて、ペプチドホルモンGLP-1の類似分子を人工的に開発したものです。ペプチドホルモンは学校ではあまり習わないと思いますので、そこから解説したほうがいいですね。
月曜の「世界の研究所」としては、GLP-1の研究に初期から携わってsemaglutideの開発を行った デンマークの製薬会社Novo Nordiskがコペンハーゲン大学に作った基礎代謝研究所を取り上げましょう。
