金曜日の読書「五輪書」は「地の巻」第2回目です。英語で見ていきましょう。
“If you succeed in clearly discerning the general principle of the art of the sword and in this manner easily defeat one person, you can defeat any opponent. The mind is the same whether it is a matter of defeating one person or a thousand or ten thousand enemies.

「剣の道を究めればどんな敵も打ち破れる。それは一人でも千人、1万人でも同じである。説明するのは難しいが、小さい仏像から大仏を作るのと同じで、兵法では1つのことから1000のことを理解する。」・・・経験が無いのでわかりませんが、これも深いですね。
この主張は繰り返し出てきます。
“It is necessary to know ten thousand things by knowing one well. If you are to practice the way of strategy, nothing must not escape your eyes. Reflect well on this.”
一つのことを良く知ることによって10000個のことを知ることが重要である。兵法の道を学べば目から逃れるものはなくなる。このことをよくよく考えるように。

火の巻に書いてあることを訓練して毎日習慣になるようにする。そうすれば不動心が普通のことになるであろう。 ※「練習は裏切らない」 ですね。

原文もいいリズムです。
兵法の拍子におゐて様々有事也。まず、あふ拍子をしって、違う拍子をわきまへ、大小遅速の拍子の中にも、あたる拍子をしり、間の拍子をしり、背（そむ）く拍子をしる事兵法の専なり。
※「相手がある場合はタイミングを計ることが重要である」これは一人でも多人数でもビジネスでも外交でもそうでしょう。これが兵法の極意と言われれば納得です。
